Amy L. Gais is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Yale University and the Graduate Student Coordinator for YCRI. She is a political theorist with research interests in contemporary political theory and the history of political thought. Her dissertation, “Beyond Conscience: Rethinking the Liberty of Conscience and Religious Worship in Early Modern Political Thought,” examines seventeenth-century debates on the liberty of conscience, freedom of worship, and religious toleration, more broadly. Previously, she earned her M.A. from the University of Chicago and her B.A. from Tufts University.
