Amy L. Gais is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Yale University and the Graduate Student Coordinator for YCRI. She is a political theorist with research interests in contemporary political theory and the history of political thought. Her dissertation, “Beyond Conscience: Rethinking the Liberty of Conscience and Religious Worship in Early Modern Political Thought,” examines seventeenth-century debates on the liberty of conscience, freedom of worship, and religious toleration, more broadly.
